Chicago Theological Seminary
RestoreWorks performed interior and exterior restorative cleaning.
Unique project required restoration of ornately painted decorative elements.
During the restorative cleaning of the oldest institution of higher learning in Chicago, RestoreWorks removed the heavy carbon deposits from the building exteriors by water misting and low-pressure washing.
Interior limestone surfaces were chemically cleaned using mild detergents and hand scrubbed with soft brushes. All adjacent interior surfaces were protected during the entire cleaning process.
The carved and in-painted ornate column capitals were restoratively cleaned and in-painted by RestoreWorks craftsmen to restore the original colors.
